We had a good time last night with friends carving pumpkins.  I appreciate so much how my friend Pilar works to create events like this and therefore memories.  The food is always central to the festivities as well.  It’s really is a blessing.

This isn’t just your normal get together to make your basic jack-o-lantern; this is a competition.  After some toasted ruben sandwiches (which I failed to get a picture of) the knives came out.  Here are a few pictures from the night’s pumpkin throw down.  I came in 3rd with my drunk gourd,  2nd place was Pilar’s stapled pumpkin, and 1st went to Antho with the house / tree / owl scene.  Lots of creativity and some trash talking as well.
